SCROLL DOWN
Our promise

As a responsible member of society, we are actively committed to the sustainable development of our planet.

In all our decisions, we attach great importance to taking ecological, social and economic aspects into account and manage them with foresight.

Our aim is to embed sustainability in everything we do in order to minimize negative impacts and protect natural resources.

To ensure that sustainable travel remains possible in the future, we are committed to preserving natural habitats and supporting local communities.

To achieve these goals, we have introduced a comprehensive sustainability strategy in our company, which we are continuously developing.

Sustainable engagement
Environment

We are continuously working to increase resource efficiency, particularly in the use of resources such as water, air and electricity.

Through targeted procurement and investment decisions, we optimize our energy consumption, rely increasingly on renewable energies and reduce climate-damaging emissions.

We recommend that our guests travel by public transport in order to minimize their environmental impact. We also focus on sustainable mobility ourselves and use the hotel’s own electric car to underline our commitment to environmentally friendly transportation.

We reduce waste by focusing on prevention, reuse, recycling and careful separation during disposal.

Society

We focus on the individual needs of our guests and place particular emphasis on family-friendliness, accessibility and taking food intolerances into account. We continuously develop our services to ensure that all guests have a pleasant stay.

We create fair working conditions, promote balanced employment for our employees and value their active participation and continuous training. Equal opportunities, a healthy work-life balance and support for social and intercultural integration are at the heart of everything we do.

Economy

We consciously design our marketing activities to take into account the ecological impact of travel, promote local regional markets and strive for a balanced mix of guests. Our commitment is directed towards the further development of sustainable tourism, which serves as an important livelihood, creates attractive jobs and offers fair working conditions, including compliance with collective labor agreements.

We act cooperatively, maintain fair partnerships and promote sustainable innovation. At the same time, we ensure economically viable profitability and always pay attention to environmental and social compatibility when making investments.

Measurement and improvement

Our Green Committee meets regularly to develop new ideas and ensure the implementation and monitoring of existing measures.

Our sustainability program

Sustainability for well-being: Enjoyment with respect for the environment.

We are committed to sustainable development. Here is a selection of the measures implemented that are important to us:

Bed linen and towel management

Linen is not changed daily. You will find a leather-laundry-card on your bedside table to indicate your wish for bed linen change.

—–

Soaps, shampoos and their flacons are turned into life-saving products through the non-profit organization SapoCycle. The soaps are recycled by people with disabilities and then distributed to improve the sanitary conditions of families in need.

Energy-efficiency and resource-saving

We use energy-efficient lighting systems and advanced technologies to minimize energy consumption.

—–

We consistently recycle paper, glass, PET, plastic containers, aluminum, light bulbs, electrical materials and batteries.

—–

We reduce water consumption by reducing waste of water, promptly repairing leaks, and installing low-water-use faucets and toilets.

Food & Food Waste

We have introduced vegan and vegetarian options in all of our menus to also appeal to guests who prefer a plant-based meal.

—–

Our chefs at Eden Kitchen and La Muña have introduced “Root to Stem,” a culinary concept that focuses on minimizing food waste by using everything or nearly everything from each ingredient.

—–

To avoid food waste, we reduce our buffets wherever possible, including at breakfast. However, you will find an adequate “à la carte” breakfast menu as an alternative.

—–

We sensitize our suppliers and partners regarding sustainability.

—–

Oranges have a double use. On one hand, their peel is removed to be combined with sugar and produce “Oleo Saccharum”. Secondly, oranges are squeezed to be used in cocktails or as juice.

—–

The “Oleo Saccharum” used for the gimlet cocktail is a sustainable product, for which no additional energy is needed in its production.

—–

Our wines are all from Europe, with one exception. 50% of our wines are certified organic and 10% biodynamic. For the rest, we always try to choose small producers who care about the health of the soil the quality of the grapes and environmentally friendly winemaking methods.

—–

We consider the origin of the products, their packaging and delivery routes. Whenever possible, we buy regionally and nationally.

Environmentally conscious mobility

We recommend traveling by public transportation. The tramstation Kreuzstrasse is only a few minutes’ walk away.

—–

Use our seasonally available Miloo e-bikes as your preferred means of transportation and make an active contribution to promoting sustainable mobility.

Paperless guest experience

By using a Digital Check-in System, we significantly reduce paper usage. Of course, an analog check-in procedure is still possible upon request.

—–

Instead of printing and archiving paper documents, we have implemented an electronic document management system. This saves us space, reduces paper usage and allows easier access to information.

—–

At check-out, the information invoice is shown on the iPad and then sent as an e-mail instead of being printed out.

Raising the awareness of the teams

La Réserve Eden au Lac Zurich employees are sensitized in terms of awareness, behavior and responsibility towards the environment.

—–

The Green Committee, consisting of employees of La Réserve Eden au Lac Zurich, is continuously optimizing processes and working on new, innovative sustainability points in the hotel.

—–

We are learning every day and look forward to your input and feedback.
